Destiny Hibbler

Destiny was born in Fort Worth, TX. As a first-generation college student, she received her Bachelors in Psychology at Texas A&M University-Commerce and Juris Doctor at Florida A&M University College of Law. She practices law as a Federal Criminal Defense Attorney. Destiny's passions are advocacy and storytelling, whether that's through her practice of law, speaking or writing. Destiny has dreamed of writing "Dear Little Brown Child" since her undergrad days, and she is now thrilled to finally share this vision with the world. Inspired by her mother's persistent questioning about her future aspirations, Destiny learned early on that saying she didn't know wasn't an option. Despite not seeing anyone in her life pursue a profession, this inquiry ignited her curiosity about careers and encouraged her to dream beyond her circumstances. Destiny came to realize that this experience profoundly shaped her journey. With "Dear Little Brown Child," Destiny hopes to inspire young Black readers to explore their potential and cultivate big dreams. Her mission is to show Black children that their aspirations are not constrained by their circumstances, community, or systemic barriers. Destiny hopes and prays that everyone reading "Dear Little Brown Child" loves it just as much as she enjoyed writing it.
