Diana Farr Louis was born in New York, NY but has lived in Athens, Greece since 1972. She writes mainly about travels and food in her adopted homeland and is the author of guides to the islands of Corfu and Andros, two collections of her articles from the Athens News -- Athens and Beyond, 30 Day Trips and Weekends, and Travels in Northern Greece -- as well as Secrets of the Greek Islands. A stint at Cordon Bleu while living in Paris in the early 60s lay the foundations for her interest in food (especially Greek) and culinary history and she has three cookbooks to her name: Prospero's Kitchen (about the Ionian Islands) with June Marinos; Feasting and Fasting in Crete; and A Taste of Greece, with Princess Tatiana, a celebrity cookbook/love letter to Greece compiled in aid of the food charity Boroume. Most recently, she co-authored (with Alexia Amvrazi and Diane Shugart) the eccentric's guide to her favorite city: 111 Places in Athens that you shouldn't miss.
