Diana Rachel Bletter grew up in New York, where she became a perfectionist to hide her shame and troubled family life. She was a straight A student, always trying to do more to prove that she was lovable. After graduating with honors from Cornell University, Diana worked for National Lampoon Magazine where she attempted to joke past her pain. She moved to Europe and worked as a freelance reporter, hoping she could lose herself, only to realize wherever you go, there you are. She decided that she had to stop running away and embarked on the truest journey—inside herself. She learned to make peace with her past, heal her heart and soul, and find happiness and gratitude for each day. She’s now found her home in a small beach village on the Mediterranean Sea where she and her husband raised six children and an unofficially adopted daughter from Ethiopia. When she’s not making granola from a recipe she learned in high school, she likes climbing trees, doodling and exploring her creativity, and sharing all she’s learned about loving herself to help other people find joy by claiming who they truly are. Diana has written for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Christian Science Monitor, Glamour, Mademoiselle, Seventeen, The Forward, The North American Review, and other publications. She is the author of several books, including the novel, A Remarkable Kindness (HarperCollins).
