I am a writer, journalist, translator, geek, photographer, and podcast producer. For more than 20 years I have been writing for newspapers in the United States, Mexico, and El Salvador. I have a degree in bilingual Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and a bachelor's degree in journalism from Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA). My short stories, poems, and translations have been published in specialized literary magazines in Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, the United States, and France. In 2022, I won the XXXI Juegos Florales de Santa Ana (El Salvador), in poetry, with the poetry collection "Éxodos"; I also won the XLV Juegos Florales De Zacatecoluca (El Salvador), in the same category, with the poetry collection "Sancire", and I participated in an anthology of literary chronicles about Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, entitled "En las tierras de Manto Negro" (In the lands of Manto Negro). That same year, Queens University of Charlotte published my bilingual "front-tears" poetry collection, Label Me Latina/o 2022, Special Issue Volume 12: Cultural Representations of Central American Migration to the US. In 2018, my first noir novel, Memoria Periodística, was published in México. In 2012, I was anthologized in Memorias de la casa. Antología narrativa de 12 autores (El Salvador). In 2005 I won El Salvador's national journalism award for a story on the contamination of the Fonseca Gulf. In addition, I have written hundreds of journalistic chronicles for the newspapers ElFaro.net, La Prensa Gráfica, and El Diario de El Paso, among other outlets. I am a producer of independent and in-house podcasts. In 2019, I won a Latin Podcasts Award, a recognition given -for the first time- to a Salvadoran in the United States for producing the entrepreneurship podcast "Secreto a voces". Since 2018, I am an active member of the Zurdo Mendieta collective, from Ciudad Juarez, where I participate in various literary, printed, and educational projects. Today, with my family, I live on the southern border between Chihuahua, Mexico, and Texas, USA.
