Before becoming an author, independent speaker, and consultant, Don Franceschi spent 29 years with the State of California, with his first position as a Safety Representative, and his last position as Regional Loss Prevention Manager for all Northern California. Don's field staff was responsible for meeting with policyholders to help them improve their safety programs through conferences, inspections, and safety presentations. During this time, he also developed, tailored, and delivered multiple "Effective Presentations and Public Speaking" classes throughout the state for his agency. Don is the author of two books-- From Awful to Awesome: 9 Essential Tools for Effective Presentations, (for inexperienced, infrequent, and ineffective business presenters) and most recently, From Awful to Awesome: Speaking Safety Successfully! (For folks who speak about workplace safety.) He has been a Santa Rosa Junior College Community Education instructor, a frequent guest speaker for the Sonoma State University Hybrid Saturday BA Program, and a TEDx Sonoma County speaker coach and Organizing Committee member. He is a recipient of the Advanced Communicator Gold award from Toastmasters International. Don lives in Santa Rosa, California, with his wife Elena. He enjoys running, playing poker, and spending time at Lake Tahoe whenever he can.
