Don Herron, best known for leading the Dashiell Hammett Tour in San Francisco, has seen edition after edition of his tour book appear, as well as his biography WILLEFORD on the cult crime writer Charles Willeford, and the guidebook THE LITERARY WORLD OF SAN FRANCISCO AND ITS ENVIRONS from City Lights Books. More recently he released ARKHAM HOUSE EPHEMERA: THE CLASSIC YEARS 1937-1973, A Pictorial History and Guide for Collectors, covering the catalogs and many advertising brochures done by August Derleth for his famous specialty press Arkham House. Among other projects, he edited THE SELECTED LETTERS OF PHILIP K. DICK and the critical collection REIGN OF FEAR: THE FICTION AND FILM OF STEPHEN KING. His critical collections on Robert E. Howard, creator of Conan, are now available in the eBook "LitCrit MegaPack" THE DARK BARBARIAN THAT TOWERS OVER ALL. His latest title is DEATH LIT, another eBook "LitCrit MegaPack," featuring essays and reviews selected from fifty years of writing, 1974-2024. Horror and the supernatural. Mystery and crime. Lovecraft, Willeford, Russell Kirk, San Francisco Mysteries and much, much more. To disambiguate this Don Herron from others, he is not the author of THE SARIM nor is he the late Canadian comedian Don Harron from HEE HAW, who wrote books under the name "Charlie Farquharson."
