关于作者

Don Tyler - originally from Jonesboro, LA; college degrees: bachelors in music education at Centenary College in Shreveport, LA; two masters at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX (in sacred music and music education); education specialist degree at La. Tech University, Ruston, LA; worked as full-time director of music in churches in Chickasha, OK and Dallas, TX; and taught music for almost 35 years at Polk Community College in Winter Haven, FL and Central Florida Community College in Ocala, FL. Retired in 2001; my wife, Doris, and I moved to the Nashville area to be near children and grandchildren. The "Hit Parade" book in 1985 was the result of teaching a class in popular music at Central Florida Community College; at the time, there were plenty of books on rock, but practically nothing about pre-rock. "Hit Songs: 1900-1955" expanded and reedited the "Hit Parade" book. "Music of the Post War Era" was a different kind of writing experience for me because I got to write about the first few years of rock and roll. "Greatest Movie Musicals" was published in Spring, 2010. "Music of the First World War" was published in March, 2016. Don and his wife, Doris, currently live in Ocoee, Florida, near Orlando. My principal hobbies are reading and fishing.
