Doug Kurkul, second from left next to Pacific Coast League President Branch Rickey III, is a Chicago-based public affairs executive and author of "Portrait of a Franchise: An Intimate Look at Cleveland Indians Baseball During the Rockin' Sixties." A graduate of American University and Ashland University, Kurkul was executive editor of the book, "Manufacturing in America: A Legacy of Excellence," by Robert Muccigrosso and Celia Dame Roberts. Kurkul's writing has appeared in the Austin Business Journal, Association Trends, Northern Nevada Business Weekly, Leadership for Manufacturers, Reno-Gazette Journal, Ashland Times-Gazette, NAM Member Focus, Round Rock Leader, and Statesman.com, among other media outlets. Kurkul is a member of the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR).
