Doughlas Remy was born and raised in Texas in the mid-20th century. He studied European art, languages and literatures at Louisiana State University and the University of Texas at Austin. After teaching English at a Saudi university for 11 years, he settled in Seattle, where he worked at Microsoft and other tech companies in the area. He began writing about LGBTQ issues in 1993, published a small magazine, and later created two websites devoted to these issues. In 2021, he published his first book, Gay Revelations. Two more books have followed: Triangles All the Way Down, and Things Hidden in Plain Sight, both of which explore topics related to Rene Girard's mimetic theory.
