Douglas Edwards served two tours in Vietnam. His first year, he served as an Infantryman with the 25th Infantry Division, 27th Infantry Regiment, the "Wolfhounds." He returned for his second year as a door gunner with the 17th Air Cavalry but later transferred to a infantry reconnaissance unit, attached to the 1st Infantry Division. His combat decorations include four Bronze Stars, three of which were for Heroism in Ground Combat, two Purple Hearts, two Army Commendation Medals, thirteen Air Medals and the Combat Infantryman Badge. Upon receiving his Honourable Discharge he attended Queens College in New York City and received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He went on to complete a Masters Degree in Finance from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. He has been a Certified Public Accountant for over 35 years. He was married for 30 years until his wife passed after a prolonged battle with Lupus. He is currently, semi retired, living in Florida where he has a small, but very active, accounting practice. He resides with his two dogs, Little Mike, a Yorkshire Terrorist, and Lee, a insane Pomeranian. Both dogs are rescues. His current hobby is restoring old cars. He has a 1938 Dodge Coupe, Street Rod and a fully restored 1967 Volkswagen Bug. He just recently completed a "Belly Tank" which, for the past two years, has raced on the Bonneville Salt Flats competing in the land speed trials. He intends to compete at Bonneville for as long as his health permits. He is currently in the final stages of his second novel, The Hobo Woods, a sequel to The Iron Triangle.
