About the Author Doug is a fire captain with a passion for adventure, both in real life and on the pages of a book! Inspired by his grandson Karter—who lights up with excitement every time he visits the fire station—he wrote Karter’s Big Adventure - Firefighter Karter to bring that same joy and wonder to kids everywhere. Karter loves climbing into the fire engine, flashing a big smile, and proudly saying, “I want to be a firefighter just like you!” When Doug isn’t leading his crew at the firehouse or writing fun stories, he’s spending time with his family, sharing laughter, and inspiring young minds to dream big.
