Dr Annette Collinge

Once a microbiologist, in charge of an electron microscope unit, Annette retired early and reinvented herself as a mixed media artist, incorporating textiles in her work. She has a life long interest in embroidery and textiles of all kinds.and became a life member of the Embroiderers’ Guild, whose extensive collection of textiles, both historical and contemporary features in all her books. Annette was delighted when the Embroiderers’ Guild and Search Press invited her to write these books, giving her access to the collection catalogue and the opportunity to reignite her research skills from her microbiology days.
