Dr. Christian Ntizimira is the founder and executive director of the African Center for Research on End-of-Life Care (acreol.org), a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing sociocultural equality through Ubuntu philosophy (humanity) into end-of-life care in Africa. A Fulbright Scholar, Kofi Annan Global Health Leadership Fellow, and graduate of the Harvard Medical School Department of Global Health and Social Medicine, Dr. Ntizimira won the prestigious 2021 Tallberg-Stavros Niarchos Foundation-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize for his passionate advocacy for palliative care in Rwanda and across Africa, based on his deeply held belief that dignified end-of-life care is a human right.
