Dr. Erin K. Coney is a Flint, Michigan native and alumna of Hampton University. Erin has always been innately creative from a young age. While matriculating through her pharmacy program, she nurtured her “right-brain” by taking journalism and media courses, while nurturing her “left-brain” within the field of sciences. Erin hopes that this children’s book will be a catalyst for children to use their innate talents and gifts to uplift themselves, and “carry their cross” within their own lives. The inspiration behind “The Tree That Stood On Calvary,” started during her second year of pharmacy school when she had countless exams and stressors of studying day in and day out. God is a huge part of her life, so she decided to write, developing a story which later became a children’s book discussing the tree that became the cross which carried Jesus to humanity’s salvation. Her hope in sharing this book is that as children grow they will know their purpose in life and shine for the good of Jesus Christ.
