Dr. Jean-Paul Brutus

Dr. Jean-Paul Brutus is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in minimally invasive hand surgery. He trained in Belgium, Canada, and the United States. With more than eighteen years of experience in hand surgery, Dr. Brutus has taught hand surgery skills to plastic and orthopedic surgeons around the world. After an academic practice as adjunct professor in reconstructive plastic and hand surgery in one of the largest teaching hospitals in Canada, he co-founded Exception MD, a private clinic in Montreal entirely devoted to upper and lower extremity orthopedic surgery. Dr. Brutus is passionate about two things: state-of-the-art minimally invasive hand surgery and patient experience. Inspired by leaders in the service and hospitality industries, he is committed to raising the standards in healthcare, not just for the quality of the care, but also in the quality of the caring and in the patient’s experience. He believes surgery does not always have to be a traumatic experience. Nobody wants to have surgery, but patients do want a positive outcome.
