Dr. John Heil

Dr. John Heil is a clinical and sport psychologist, and partner in Psychological Health Roanoke. He is a longstanding sport psychlogy consultant to USA Fencing. He is editor of the Sport Science column in American Fencing Magazine and served as Chair of USA Fencing Sports Medicine & Science for over 15 years. He is a Lecturer at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, an Instructor at the Roanoke Police Academy, and served as Director of Sports Medicine for the Virginia State Games for over 20 years. He is a Fellow in both the American Psychological Association and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. Dr. Heil is an AASP Certified Consultant and member of the United States Olympic Committee Sport Psychology Registry. He has recently taken office as President-Elect of the American Psychological Association Division of Exercise & Sport Psychology.
