Kenny Rhodes

Dr. Kenny Rhodes is an Adjunct Professor at Regent University (Regent.edu) and a Visiting Scholar with Reasons To Believe, RTB (Reasons.org). Kenny teaches for Regent (on behalf of RTB) in their Master of Arts degree program in Apologetics and Cosmogony and their Doctor of Ministry program, teaching courses in apologetics/evangelism. On behalf of RTB, he is involved in producing media content, blog articles, and lectures in the area of God’s existence, metaphysics, and theology. This material is available on RTB’s web site and on RTB’s YouTube.com channel. Kenny is an ordained Southern Baptist minister with 30 years of experience in pastoral ministry. Kenny started his ministry endeavors evangelizing on the streets of Manteca and Stockton, California, in the early 1990s. In response to questions concerning the reliability of the Bible, the existence of God, and science, which motivated his journey to “be prepared to give a defense” of the Christian faith. As a result, Kenny spent the next 16 years in college, seminary, and pastoral ministry. And presently (2020), he is pursuing a Ph.D. (biblical theology) with Liberty University, expecting to graduate in the spring of 2022. Dr. Rhodes earned the Ph.D. (theology and philosophy) and Doctor of Ministry (historical and biblical theology) degrees and focuses on the topics of the arguments for God, the doctrine of Divine Simplicity, the Trinity, Natural Theology, and the philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas. He is also a student of the teachings of Dr. Norm Geisler. Kenny is the author of “The One Who Is: the doctrine and existence of God (Westbow Press, 2015), which Dr. Geisler called “the best handbook” he has seen on the topic. He is also the coeditor and coauthor of the theological tome, “Evangelical Bible Doctrine: articles in honor of Mal Couch. Kenny is also an accomplished drummer and teaches music at Janis Music Studios, Manteca, CA. Kenny has been married to Tami since 1994, and they have three adult children. Tami serves as the Women’s Ministry Director for a large church in Modesto. The Rhodes resides in Modesto, CA.
