Dr. Kevin Smith is an assistant professor of internal medicine and an ABOM diplomate passionate about obesity medicine, board preparation, and teaching. In his studies for his ABOM examination, he found it difficult to find challenging, up-to-date questions that mirrored topics covered on the exam. Thus, he combined his aspirations and bridged the gap with “Obesity Medicine Board Review Questions.” Dr. Smith has an extensive background in board review education, being the director of one of the largest preclinical board review question banks in the country for the past 5 years, and a question author for 3 years prior to that. In addition, he recently had a chapter published, "Hormones of Obesity Care: PYY, Ghrelin, GLP-1, and GIP," in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Examination and Board Review (McGraw Hill). He also has had the privilege to work alongside some of the brightest minds in obesity medicine in an academic setting for the past few years. Since the original edition of "Obesity Medicine Board Review", there have been substantial advances within obesity medicine. The most recent edition has undergone recent revisions based on updated practice guidelines, bariatric surgery and FDA-pharmacologic indications, and feedback based on the exam. In between new editions, book updates and blogs can be found at obesitymedicinereview dot com, where weekly ABOM study blogs are also housed. In addition to "Obesity Medicine Board Review", a complementary book, "Obesity Medicine: Practice Tests," has been added to provide an additional 350 unique questions (2024 Edition) to supplement studying for the ABOM board examination. In total, more than 620 questions are available for study. These books have received the Amazon best-seller rating in numerous categories (Bariatrics, Study Guides, and New Release).
