Dr. Kevin B. Smith

Dr. Kevin Smith is an assistant professor of internal medicine and an ABOM diplomate passionate about obesity medicine, board preparation, and teaching. In his studies for his ABOM examination, he found it difficult to find challenging, up-to-date questions that mirrored topics covered on the exam. Thus, he combined his aspirations and bridged the gap with “Obesity Medicine Board Review Questions.” Dr. Smith has an extensive background in board review education, being the director of one of the largest preclinical board review question banks in the country for the past 5 years, and a question author for 3 years prior to that. In addition, he recently had a chapter published, "Hormones of Obesity Care: PYY, Ghrelin, GLP-1, and GIP," in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Examination and Board Review (McGraw Hill). He also has had the privilege to work alongside some of the brightest minds in obesity medicine in an academic setting for the past few years. Since the original edition of "Obesity Medicine Board Review", there have been substantial advances within obesity medicine. The most recent edition has undergone recent revisions based on updated practice guidelines, bariatric surgery and FDA-pharmacologic indications, and feedback based on the exam.
