As an educator, licensed clinical social worker, and author, my passion lies in empowering individuals and communities through education, mentorship, and advocacy. I hold a Doctorate in Education from the University of Southern California and a Master's in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. My journey has been dedicated to fostering growth and self-actualization among diverse groups. Currently, I am a Full-Time Lecturer at California State University, Long Beach, where I teach courses in social work, including FoundationPractice, Policy Analysis and Human Behavior. I focus on bridging theory with practice, ensuring students not only grasp concepts but also apply them in real-world scenarios. I actively contribute to institutional initiatives and mentor graduate students. As the President and CEO of Always Progressing Inc., I promote literacy and support first-generation college students through workshops and mentorship programs, empowering them to pursue their educational dreams. In my therapeutic practice, I work with individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds, particularly those new to therapy or navigating challenging experiences. I strive to create a safe, collaborative space for clients to explore their identities, set achievable goals, and develop personalized mental health plans. I am the Best Selling author of "They Say We Don’t," which highlights meaningful narratives and experiences. My contributions have been recognized with accolades, including induction into the CSU, Long Beach BMAC Hall of Fame. I believe in community engagement and often participate in speaking engagements focused on youth development and education. I aim to inspire the next generation of leaders and equip them with the tools they need to thrive.
