Dr. Meryl

Dr. Meryl is a dedicated single mom and passionate leader in public education. In 2024, she founded Hex 24 Press to advocate for educational equity and embrace her creative side. Her goal is to empower families, inspire educators, and provide some entertainment along the way. Over her 15-year career in education, Dr. Meryl has held various roles including paraprofessional, custodian, classroom teacher (ECE, K, 4th, 5th), gifted education teacher (ECE - 8th), district teacher support, district department leader, and K-12 charter school board member. These diverse experiences have shaped her approach to dismantling systemic racism within the system, making her a strong advocate for teachers and a passionate supporter of equitable education practices. Dr. Meryl aspires to be the Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson of public education through her publications, striving to make complex educational concepts accessible for everyone—teachers, families, and students alike. Combining her experience as a parent and educator with her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, she breaks down educational rights and best practices into understandable and actionable insights.
