Hailing from Muzaffarpur, India, Dr. Nusrat Jahan is a distinguished and accomplished individual who has made significant contributions in various fields. From a young age, Dr. Jahan developed a passion for literature and psychology, which she pursued by obtaining her PhD in Urdu literature in 1993. Her doctoral thesis was a unique blend of literature and psychological science, showcasing her diverse interests and exceptional talent. As an avid writer and advocate for social causes, Dr. Jahan has an impressive portfolio of many short stories and articles that have been published in magazines across India. She has now ventured into writing books, using her skills to highlight social issues and inspire positive change in society. Dr. Jahan has also had a distinguished career as a teacher, where she has imparted valuable knowledge and instilled essential values in young minds. Combining her expertise in literature and psychology, she has taught young children the importance of respect, honesty, empathy, hard work, patience, and other fundamental values alongside formal education. Even after retiring, Dr. Jahan continues to work with underprivileged children, helping them accelerate their learning in reading, writing, and multiple languages, including English, Hindi, and Urdu, as she believes that these foundational skills empower children to become self-learners. Dr. Jahan's indomitable spirit and desire to give back to society are further exemplified by her personal journey as a cancer survivor. In her free time, she indulges in her hobbies of cooking, embroidery/block printing, and is currently undertaking classes to learn Arabic, showcasing her zest for lifelong learning and personal growth.
