Duane Estill is the author of numerous non-fiction books, most recently a series dealing with Scientology, called "Hubbardism" with three volumes total. Duane is a native Mississippian, born, raised, and educated in Mississippi, has a graduate degree in Philosophy from Ole Miss, and currently resides in Mississippi. During his early years, at age five, he started studying classical piano and took lessons for ten years. When in college at Oxford (Ole Miss) he spent many a night in the various dives up and and down the state of Mississippi playing rock and roll music with a band, all fellow students at Ole Miss. Needless to say, this was a very colorful series of experiences that showed a very particular slice of Southern life. After completing a Master's in Philosophy he continued his studies in Memphis, studying theology for four more years. Then he began working as a web developer. At the time the World Wide Web was only a few years old, so he became familiar with the foundational levels of the technology for development web sites and web applications. This led to a longer career working for Shelby County Government, working under two mayoral administrations and seeing the developments in Memphis up close. An aid to General Ulysses S. Grant in the Civil War, who was with Grant in the battle of Shiloh, witnessed the full color of the men of Mississippi over the course of the battle. He wrote, "Of all the great acts of valor and bravery I have seen in the war, nothing compares to the dash and heroism of the Mississippians." Mr. Estill believes this is as true today as it was then. One reviewer said simply this: "The meaning of everything, in sound bytes." The basic motivation for Duane's writing is philosophical analysis since it corresponds closely with his training and interest. In an upcoming in 2024 book called "Mind Tools" will provide a manual for critical reasoning skills, and rational thinking in general.
