E. Jane Wyatt has an impressive career in hospice counseling and hospital system community education. Despite her qualifications, caring for her mother with dementia was her most challenging role. This experience made her want to improve dementia care. After her mother passed away, Wyatt decided to use her personal experiences to enhance resources and training for dementia caregivers. Wyatt writes the "Caregiver 10 Minute Guide" series, a collection of short books that provide quick and practical information for caregivers. She understands that caregivers are often short on time, so she condenses complex topics into easy-to-read insights. Wyatt's own experiences as a caregiver shape her approach, as she knows firsthand how overwhelming it can be. The series allows her to support caregivers without demanding a lot of their time. When she's not writing or speaking, Wyatt enjoys the peacefulness of living in Wimberley, a charming town in Central Texas. She has four senior cats, each with their unique personalities. Despite their quirks, these cats provide Wyatt with valuable training material that helps her practice patience and understanding, skills that are important in her profession. Her interactions with these cats often mirror the challenges she encounters in dementia care, reminding her that love, patience, and empathy can foster healing and connection even in the most complex situations.
