Edwin Antonio Gaona Salinas (*1971) was born in San Antonio de las Aradas, a small village in the south of Ecuador near the border with Peru. Having grown up in the rural atmosphere of the Andes, the contemporary authors' writing reflect the life in the Andes of Ecuador, a mixture of poverty and work, gossip, legends and everyday stories, and let the reader immerse in this fascinating world.
