Born in Poland in 1938, Eddie Bielawski is one of the youngest Holocaust survivors with any memory of the war years. After the war, his family moved to Toronto and Eddie quickly learned to speak and write English fluently, as well as play baseball and hockey (although not very well), eat popcorn, and drink Coca-Cola (which tasted like cough medicine). Eddie went on to earn a B.A. in English and teaching certificates in English and the Theatre Arts. He then spent the next 42 years of his life teaching English in high schools in both Canada and Netanya, Israel, where he now lives with his wife Elaine. Eddie and Elaine have three children and ten grandchildren, all living in Israel. Now retired, Eddie enjoys spending time with his family.
