Edward Pollack

关于作者

Ed has been involved in tech for over 20 years, working on server hardware and later his true passion: databases! This love of data and the many topics that surround it has lead him to regularly speak, write, and share scripts, tools, and ideas with the SQL community. He is a regular speaker at conferences, including SQL Saturdays, SQL Data Platform events, and PASS Summit, as well as at many local and regional user groups. Ed regularly writes articles that outline original scripts, allowing the reader to perform complex or unique database tasks quickly, and equally importantly, for free. In addition, he has researched many SQL and scripting quirks, bugs, and features. He has a passion for sharing his experiences with the general public, solving problems and improving the available knowledge to the community as a whole. Dynamic SQL: Applications, Performance, and Security is Ed's first book. In it, he takes a readily available tool and provides in-depth analysis, use cases, and tools that the user can download, customize, and use to solve real world challenges. This is a topic that he has researched heavily, spoken about countless times, and utilized in many critical situations. This book was released in its second edition in December, 2018, with updated code, examples, and additional content. Outside the world of computers and data, Ed loves video games, traveling, baseball, bowling, and running. He has been to many countries, including favorites such as Mexico, Iceland, and Japan. He resides in Albany, NY with his wife Theresa, and son Nolan. He looks forward to the day when Nolan is old enough to appreciate and join in his travels, hobbies, and trips to gigantic Japanese arcades!
