Hi, I'm Edy Nathan MA, LCSWR and I'm an author, certified sex therapist, Psychology Today blogger, motivational speaker, and workshop leader. As a practitioner in New York City, my work in grief, trauma and sexuality offers insight into the way loss affects the soul, the brain and ultimately, the self. I use my vast experience to reach wider audiences, helping to breathe new meaning into the lives of those stagnated by loss or trauma. I am Spiritual,(that which we cannot see, yet affects our soul), Creative (Ceramic artist and poet) and Curious (I want to know more), I see the journey of grief as a hero's journey. You meet parts of the self during the process of loss which have been dormant or silent or unknown. After surviving assaults of my soul, my body and the loss of my first love, my own journey informs every piece of the mosaic that is grief. Grief is non-linear and does not follow any one path, mimicking life, the unpredictability of it all, grief cries out to be heard, and when you listen, change occurs. I am very excited to be part of the ever-changing landscape of life even though I've had to face the darkness of loss and trauma. I have taught others how to dance with a companion and partner, called grief. It's a dance I am committed to every day of my life.
