AUTHOR - ELAINE BROGNO Elaine is a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is a retired advertising copywriter who enjoys writing children's stories that teach the good family values of love, caring, sharing, honesty, kindness and fair play, mostly, through the use of the lovable animal characters she creates. She is currently working on another children's book, as well as an adult novel. Elaine lives in a beach community in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. She belongs to the Association of Rhode Island Authors and the Wakefield "Write" group, comprised of local authors, poets, and even a playwright. She says for her, "writing is as natural as breathing air." She always carries a notebook in her purse for recording fresh ideas and observations, as they come. AUTHOR / ILLUSTRATOR - DANA VACCA Dana Vacca is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and holds a Masters of Fine Arts degree. She has taught painting, drawing and design at the college level for over seventeen years. Her favorite medium is oil painting but also enjoys mixed media with watercolor and color pencils. Her illustrations are all hand drawn as she prefers creating the characters with a hands on, more direct process than a digital one. Her dogs and horses are her best friends and her love and understanding of animals fills her illustrations with expression and truly brings these characters to life. Dana also collects antique children's books. She loves their classic style, wonderful artwork and imagery. She recalls how, as a child, she was captivated by the drawings and pictures in her favorite storybooks and how the visual images allowed her to immerse herself in the world that unfolded on each page. Her wish is to create illustrations in a modern but classic style that will, likewise, enchant and delight all the young readers who meet her characters.
