Elaine Parker

Hello everyone. I am Elaine Parker, writer of the definitive biography of actor Dennis Price, entitled "The Price of Fame". I first started writing this book way back in 1986, aged 18, but did not get it published until 2018, thanks to the wonderful actress Madeline Smith, who put me in touch with my editor/co-author Gareth Owen. Writing about Dennis Price was an exciting journey, which took me on travels to Oxford, London, Kent, Guernsey and Sark in the Channel Islands. I loved finding out from his friends what made this actor tick and his struggles to continue with a flourishing career long after his days as a leading man were over. Dennis Price was a survivor and a hugely talented man - very much underrated. My next projects are books on the actor Hywel Bennett and clarinettist Acker Bilk, which I am busy working on at the moment. I am immensely grateful to my publishers, Fonthill Media, for making my dream come true about being a published author.
