As an author, I primarily focus on bringing mindfulness into the lives of busy people and professionals, helping them discover how small, intentional shifts can lead to meaningful transformations. My writing has been about exploring how mindfulness can reduce stress and enhance performance, resilience, and fulfillment in life. But life has a way of offering unexpected detours, and I recently found myself on one of the most delightful yet unplanned adventures. While creating illustrations for my latest book on mindfulness, I ended up crafting not just a handful but 200 cartoons. The project grew beyond my initial intentions, capturing moments of humour, absurdity, and even a little wisdom through characters like spiritually evolved dinosaurs, vegan vampires, and zombies on equal rights campaigns. In the end, I decided to turn this collection into a standalone book, Monsters and Mindfulness, embracing the idea that life’s too short (or perhaps too long, depending on your perspective) not to seize new adventures when they present themselves. This detour taught me that mindfulness isn't just a practice—sometimes, it’s about following where life leads and finding meaning, joy, and a bit of silliness along the way.
