Elizabeth Woodcock, MBA, FACMPE, CPC is the founder and principal of Woodcock & Associates. She is also the founder of the Patient Access Symposium™, a group of 53 large healthcare delivery systems working to develop industry standards in patient access. She is the author of Mastering Patient Flow, an industry bestseller and is considered a national expert on medical practice operations. She is frequently published and quoted in national publications including the Wall Street Journal, MGMA Connexion, American Medical News and Medical Economics. She has focused on medical practice operations and revenue cycle management for more than 20 years and has led educational sessions for leading healthcare organizations. She is the author of 15 best-selling books, including Mastering Patient Flow and Front Office Success, and coauthor of It’s Your Call: Mastering the Telephones in Your Medical Practice and Operating Policies and Procedures Manual for Medical Practices. Prior to healthcare consulting, Elizabeth worked as group practice services administrator at the University of Virginia Health Services Foundation (the business office for the 500-physician medical group that serves the university), as a long-time consultant for the Medical Group Management Association, and as director of knowledge management for Physicians Practice, Inc. She is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives and a Certified Professional Coder. In addition to a BA from Duke University, she holds an MBA degree in healthcare management from the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. A frequent contributor to national healthcare publications and a sought-after keynote speaker at national forums, she resides in Atlanta with her husband and three children.
