Ellen Jean Samuels

Ellen Samuels is Professor of Gender & Women’s Studies and English and founding member of the Disability Studies Initiative at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Her awards include the Catherine Stimpson Prize for Outstanding Feminist Scholarship and two Lambda Literary Awards. She is currently working on three new books: Your Body Should Be A Part of This World, a hybrid poetry and creative nonfiction collection; Double Meanings: Conjoined Twins and Cultural Resignification, a scholarly monograph; and Sick Time: What Chronic Life Tells Us, a work of autotheory.
