Emilie Shapiro

Emilie Shapiro currently lives and works in New York City. She is the head designer of her jewelry line, Emilie Shapiro Contemporary Metals. Emilie's work is inspired by natural elements and heavily driven by experimentation and process, and incorporates rough gemstones, celebrating beauty in imperfection. Emilie's work is sold worldwide at locations such as American Natural History Museum, Anthropologie and UncommonGoods. Emilie teaches workshops on jewelry production and wax carving at 92nd Street Y, Liloveve Jewelry Studio, and at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, as well as other studios throughout the New York Metropolitan area. She received her BFA in jewelry and metalsmithing from Crouse College, Syracuse University, and studied at Alchimia, a contemporary jewelry school in Florence, Italy.
