My name is Enrique Acosta Consuegra. I was born and lived my first 27 years in Cuba, a country in which I earn the title of Professor of Spanish and Spanish and Hispanic American Literature at the "Enrique José Varona" Higher Pedagogical Institute of the University of Havana. At 28 I moved to Spain and lived there for a year. Then I immigrated to the United States, where I have lived for over 40 years. I recently retired from my lifetime vocation job as an upper secondary school teacher. Writing has always been one of the favorite activities during my off hours, but I also enjoy walking outdoors and admiring the beauties of our nature anywhere in the world. Also, I like to relax playing golf with my kids or my friends for some weekends. I consider that the main legacy of my life is in the education of the hundreds of students I have taught for more than thirty years, Now, already retired and beginning to feel and see in me the imprint of the years, and at the request of family and friends, I have given myself the task of collecting and publishing some of my unpublished writings, before they get lost forgotten in a drawer or in an old closet. I regret not being in the past more active participating or making myself known on social networks. I also regret never having created a group of Internet friends, followers, and fans of my writings. More than a profit motive, my interest in publishing has been motivated by the desire to know the opinion of readers who are not part of my daily life. My family and friends, whether they like it or not, will always be careful to make a severe criticism of what I write. Hence, I have brought to light my first two books (experiments in narrative and poetry) and stoically receive any criticism of their flaws or perhaps enjoyed sincere and unbiased praise for any positive trait It might distill from them. Now in 2023 I launched my first experiment of a non-fiction book ignoring my limitations to write in English which is not my first language. But, approaching already the senescence I could not stop myself from boarding the controversial topic of racial relations and freedom of expression that is increasingly firing so much discord between people of different races and political factions in America and the rest of the world today.
