Eric Adjepong, MPH, is a celebrated chef and public health nutrition professional known for his unique blend of culinary artistry and advocacy for food accessibility. As a first-generation Ghanaian-American raised in New York City, Eric draws inspiration from the vibrant West African flavors he grew up with, infusing them into his cooking to celebrate the global impact of African cuisine. Through appearances on *Top Chef*, *Top Chef All-Stars*, and as the host of *Alex vs. America* on Food Network, he has introduced a wide audience to these rich culinary traditions with elegance and innovation. Eric's background in Culinary Arts and Nutrition from Johnson & Wales, combined with a Master’s in Public Health Nutrition from the University of Westminster, has informed his journey as a chef and advocate. His experience includes working in Michelin-starred restaurants and launching his own private dining and events company. Now, as a public figure, Eric balances his culinary pursuits with his role as a humanitarian ambassador for organizations like Save the Children, advocating for food accessibility and global health. In 2023, Eric hosted the prestigious James Beard Awards, marking another milestone in his career as he continues to amplify the narratives of African diasporic food and culture in mainstream culinary circles. His mission is grounded in a commitment to heritage, a passion for global awareness, and a drive to inspire the next generation through food. Eric's reach extends beyond television and advocacy. With multiple Food Network shows, a retail collection with Crate & Barrel, a children’s book, his debut cookbook, Ghana to the World ,releasing in March of 2025, and a DC-based modern Ghanaian restaurant, Elmina, in development, he is a culture-focused chef with a clear vision and mission. His efforts align closely with the Fund for Education Abroad’s goals of fostering global understanding and mentorship, making him the ideal recipient of the 2024 Fritz Kaufmann Champion award.
