Eric Foster Rhodes

Eric Foster Rhodes was born in Luray, Virginia, attended McKinley High School in Washington, D.C., and won a four-year scholarship to the George Washington University. After World War II service, he returned to earn bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees at G.W., and later taught there part-time for a total of 12 years. He began writing fiction at an early age, with his play "Psychopathic Case" being produced in his junior high school. While teaching at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia, he initiated and directed classes in creative writing, journalism, and yearbook production, while publishing articles covering these subjects. Later, as an independent consultant, and president of Educational Service Bureau, Eric published 16 non-fiction books, primarily on organization and management of schools and colleges. He led the study and wrote the report which led the establishment of the Virginia Community College System. After retirement, Eric began serious work on his mystery novels featuring "Jeep" Winston, and mystery story collections featuring magician detective Griff McGregor. He has also published his first poetry collection: "Where the Heart Is", with more on the way. He and wife Barbara live on the shores of Florida's Pithlacascotee River near the Gulf of Mexico.
