Eric H. Schuelke grew up loving strategy. As a "tweener" his favorite book was Robinson Crusoe and he began playing chess. Later, he discovered Sun Tzu's Art of War. While in the Air Force he collected chess sets from other countries. His favorites are from Turkey, with brass chess pieces, and the wooden set gifted to him from his Aunt Marge in Germany. He is a member of FIDE and the U.S. Chess Federation, plays chess at his local chess club and enjoys studying classic chess games online. Still happily married to his high school sweetheart, Kim, he is the father of three boys, and the doting grandfather of three boys and three girls. He and his wife recently founded EK Endeavors LLC, and Eric is publishing chess books under the PrimalChess imprint. He worked very hard on his first book, "Chess Strategies for Beginners". When he reads reviews such as this one one from Ray Lighthouse, he knows he accomplished his purpose: "What sets this book apart is its focus on helping readers discover strategies that align with their unique personalities, empowering them to play with confidence and flair." Ray goes on to assert: "Chess Strategies for Beginners" is your roadmap to mastering the fundamentals, implementing winning tactics, and outsmarting your opponents whether you're a novice or a seasoned player." At age 28, Eric began the lifelong transition from “raging hedonist” to “follower of Christ”. He attends Christian Community Church of Richland, in PA, where he teaches the teens on Family Life Nights, participates in ECMEN and serves as a greeter, prayer team member and elder. HIs favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
