Erica Gies

Erica Gies is an independent journalist and National Geographic Explorer who writes about water, climate change, and biology for Scientific American, the New York Times, Nature, the Atlantic, bioGraphic, and other publications. Her book, "Water Always Wins: Thriving in an age of drought and deluge" is published by the University of Chicago Press. A big fan of critters, plants, and wild places, she lives in San Francisco and Victoria, British Columbia, with her partner and their tabby cat.
