Erica S. Perl

Erica S. Perl is the co-author, with Dolly Parton, of the New York Times Bestselling BILLY THE KID picture book series. She is also the author of many popular picture books including HOW CARROT AND COOKIE SAVED CHRISTMAS, THE THREE LITTLE GUINEA PIGS and THE NINTH NIGHT OF HANUKKAH. In addition, she writes early readers, chapter books and novels for older readers. She is also the co-author, with R.J. Palacio, of WHITE BIRD: A NOVEL. WHITE BIRD is now a feature film starring Helen Mirren and Gillian Anderson. In addition, Erica is on the faculty of the Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA Program. When she is not writing and teaching, she travels extensively, presenting her work at schools and libraries and leading writing workshops. She is also an excellent baker, an overconfident downhill skiier, and a truly terrible gardener. She lives in Washington, DC with her family.
