关于作者

A native of New York City, I’ve published several books for adults and children. The most recent is my 2020 IPPY award-winning Heroic Women of the Art World (Tumblehome Publishing), YA biographies of women artists. My other books include The 100-Year Secret (Lyons Press), on a major Holocaust cover-up; The Art of Fairy Tales (BookWise), on famous illustrators; and The Captain of Battery Park (Addison-Wesley), a novel set in Manhattan. I’ve also published features and poems in The Boston Globe, The Christian Science Monitor, The Colby College Library Journal, and other media. After graduating with Honors from Harvard, I taught art history and English at two of the nation's top private schools, Buckingham Browne & Nichols in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Winsor in Boston, where I won awards for my teaching and for promoting diversity. I live just outside Boston with my wife, the photographer Parrish Dobson (parrishdobson.com). Our grown children live and work in Nashville and Yorba Linda. Whenever we can, Parrish and I escape to the island of North Haven, Maine. It's a great place to start a book! Other writers inspired here include Elizabeth Bishop, Susan Minot, Peyton Houston, Alice Greenway, Walter Lord, and Anne Morrow Lindbergh. Education: Harvard College: B.A. with Honors, English. Boston University: M.A., English and American Literature. Boston University: M.B.A., Management
