Evangelos has been working in Silicon Valley on AI for over 30 years as a VC, board member, entrepreneur, corporate executive, and technologist. His firm Synapse Partners, which he co-founded in 2016, invests in early-stage startups developing enterprise AI applications and advises global corporations on AI and big data strategies, new mobility, and startup-driven corporate innovation. Evangelos is the author of the books "The Big Data Opportunity in Our Driverless Future," a groundbreaking book that presents the importance of data and AI in transportation systems that combine autonomous vehicles with on-demand mobility services, and "Transportation Transformation: How Autonomous Mobility will Fuel New Value Chains," which examines how cities, mobility services companies, and automakers will collaborate in the value chains enabled by data and AI. The forthcoming "The Flagship Experience: How AI and Software-Defined Vehicles Will Revolutionize the Automotive Customer Experience" completes a cycle on how data and AI will impact new mobility. Evangelos is a member of Caltech's advisory board, the advisory board of Brandeis International School of Business, the advisory board of the US Department of Transportation’s Connected Cities for Smart Mobility Center, and the advisory board of Securing America's Future Energy. He has served on several commissions and task forces focusing on artificial intelligence, autonomous mobility, and corporate innovation. He earned a Ph.D. in computer science (machine learning) from Brandeis University and a BS in electrical engineering from Caltech.
