Evaristus Abu

Evaristus Abu is a Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Benin City, Nigeria, ordained by Most. Rev. Augustine Obiora Akubeze on August 18, 2012. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (2008) from the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. He is also a graduate of the Pontifical Urban University, Rome, where he bagged a Bachelor of Theology degree (2012). Since his ordination in 2012, he has served in the following capacities: 1. Parochial Vicar at St. Peter Catholic Church, Benin City (2012-2016), 2. Assistant Director of Floreat Systems, Archdiocese of Benin City Printing Press (2012-2016), 3. Chaplain of Presentation National High School, Benin City (2016-2017), 4. Parish Priest at St. Agatha Catholic Church (2016-2021), 5. Resident Priest at Holy Cross Cathedral, Benin City (2021-2022), 6. Director of Floreat Systems, Archdiocese of Benin City Printing Press (2017-2022), 7. Resident Priest at St. Gregory College, Obalende, South West Ikoyi, Lagos Island, Lagos State (2022-date). He is a psychology student at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State. Fr. Evaristus Abu elevates the prophetic function by using social media to reach people beyond his immediate community. For twelve years, he has been a consistent presence on social media, providing daily homilies and spreading his mantra of positivity: "Be Happy. Live Positive. Have Faith. It is well with you." Fr. Evaristus Abu is a professional graphic artist, a writer and an experienced preacher of God's word. His favourite hobby is prayer and meditation.
