Born and raised in Wilmington Delaware as a Quaker - also known as The Religious Society of Friends, Faye attended Goldey Beacom College. The mother of four Eagle Scout sons and familiar with raising boys, she was very active with the Boy Scouts of America and received the distinguished Silver Beaver Award. As a volunteer for the American Red Cross, she taught swimming and life-saving for over thirty years as well as helped with blood-drives and disaster relief. A swimmer, scuba-diver and snow skier, Faye grew up with a love for life and the great oudoors. This is her first attempt at writing a novel and we think you will be pleased. It's a fun read, whether you are nine or ninety-nine. Trying to capture the exciting era of the birth of Big Bands and Swing Dancing - right after the Stock Market Crash and repeal of Prohibition, this story reads like a fun history lesson. It truly brings this era to life. You will find yourself in the shoes of Frank, Gene, Jane and Lovina as they live life in 1930's New York City and on the barrier island off the coast of Georgia, from where the book gets its title. Based upon the real-life story of one of Faye's mother's best friends, it allows the fictional elements to hold it together in a way that lets the reader live, laugh and love as they enjoy a step back in time. As an author who is a Christian, Faye enjoys being a part of the Methodist church - and also the Methodist womens group, along with helping other local charities where she serves those with various needs. She also enjoys spending time with her amalgamation of family and friends as well as her constant little companions, two sweet little poodles, Dora and Bucky. Faye Bradley lives along the beautiful coast of South Carolina and enjoys visiting her sister in Florida.
