Gail Haroldsen Porter

After her children grew up and left home, Gail Haroldsen Porter decided her grandfather’s stories about life in the Mormon colony of Colonia Diaz belonged in a novel, but she soon expanded her focus to events surrounding the Mexican Revolution and determined to tell all sides of that story. Neighbors Across the River: Legacy of an Uprising, is her first novel and earned her the Emerging Author Praiseworthy Award in Historical Fiction from LDSPMA.
