Gary D. Soto

Gary D. Soto is the founder of GDS Consulting. He grew as the seventh child to a large Latino family that held education as a top priority. Gary is a former elementary and secondary teacher and school administrator. Working with PK-12 districts and schools throughout the country, Gary focuses on system reform and school leadership that increases student achievement. A powerful speaker and leadership coach to superintendents, their cabinets, and school site administrators, Gary provides the insights that often “make the difference” in whole system reform. Gary Soto is a recipient of the National Educator Award for helping to reshape American education. He has also served as a Police Commissioner in Los Angeles County and as Board President for one of the nation's largest civil rights organizations.
