Gavin Blair has been living and writing about Japan for more than two decades. His writing has appeared in The Hollywood Reporter, Christian Science Monitor, South China Morning Post, Al Jazeera, LA Times, The Times, Guardian, Sunday Times, Financial Times, Independent, Global Post and many more. He has reported for France 24 TV, Voice of America, CBC, BBC, Radio France International, NHK World and more. Blair has covered Japanese culture, society, politics, economics, crime, business and entertainment. He authored 'Zen in Japanese Culture: A Visual Journey through Art, Design, and Life' an co-authored 'Japan in 100 Words: From Anime to Zen: Discover the Essential Elements of Japan' both of which were published in English, French and Italian. Blair has trained in karate for 35 years, which is what first took him to Japan, and now also practices Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
