Gerald Burns’ obsession with true crime stories and the dark psychology of serial killers started on a flight to New York in 2004 while reading a book on the Manson murders. Few months later he read a story about a young waitress who had gone missing after her shift, never to be seen again. She simply vanished. Since then he became interested in true crimes stories, stories of disappearances and the weird histories of the world. He started writing out about some of these disappearances in magazines and had people send in their suggestions and thoughts about the cases.
