Gerald Epstein is Professor of Economics and a founding Co-director of the Political Economy Research Institute (PERI) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He has published widely on a variety of progressive economic policy issues, especially in the areas of central banking, macroeconomic policy, and international finance. He received his PhD in Economics from Princeton University and is a long time staff economist for the Center for Popular Economics (CPE). His most recent book is Busting the Bankers' Club: Finance for the Rest of Us, from the University of California Press.
