Gerald Uttrachi

Gerald "Jerry" Uttrachi has 40+ years experience in the welding field. He managed a welding process and materials R&D Laboratory and was Vice President of a major welding equipment and filler metals manufacturer. He is an active volunteer including serving as the 2007 President of the American Welding Society and is Chairman of his local section of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He has been a passionate "Hot Rodder" all his life and currently has a 1934 Ford Pro Street Rod with an 8.2 liter engine in addition to his daily driver, a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport. He invented and his company, WA Technology, sells a patented product that reduces MIG shielding gas waste and use by 50%. He holds a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Engineering Management. For his book "Advanced Automotive Welding," he received a Bronze Medal in the 22nd International Automotive Media Award Competition as well as a Silver Medal in 2016 for "Weld Like a Pro" by the London based International Council for Press and Broadcasting.
