Gerard Seijts is professor of organizational behavior at the Ivey Business School at Western University in London, Ontario. He received his Ph.D. in organizational behavior and human resource management from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. His areas of research include leadership, leader character, teams, performance management, and organizational change. Gerard has worked with public, private, and not-for-profit sector organizations in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. He is the author or co-author of several books: Leadership on Trial: A Manifesto for Leadership Development (2010); Good Leaders Learn: Lessons from Lifetimes of Leadership (2013); Developing Leadership Character (2016); The Character Compass (2023); and Character: What Contemporary Leaders Can Teach Us about Building a More Just, Prosperous, and Sustainable Future (2024). Gerard is the recipient of awards for research, innovation in teaching, and outreach activities / service. Gerard is the husband of Jana Seijts and the proud father of Aiden and Arianna.
